Mr. Arthur L. McIntye, reporting directly to the Architect, became Architect of the Capitol’s Inspector General in 1996 after serving as the AOC’s Internal Auditor for 14 years. He is responsible for audits, investigations and appraisals of the efficiency of agency activities, programs and operations which includes detection and prevention of fraud, waste and abuse.
Before joining the Architect, Mr. McIntye’s experience was in both the government and in the private sector. As a member of the Air Force assigned to the Air Force Audit Agency he served in various capacities. Mr. McIntye was special projects officer to the Director of Acquisition and Logistics Systems. He was responsible for a wide range of duties and audits including major weapon system development, contract negotiations, missile development, along with financial and logistical matters for the Secretary of the Air Force (Financial Management) and the Air Force Comptroller. He also has served as auditor, branch chief, audit manager and resident auditor at commands throughout the Air Force. Mr. McIntye was awarded two Meritorious Service Medals and one AF Commendation Medal for his work.
Mr. McIntye, as senior budget and planning analyst for the Director of Planning and Budgeting - Student Loan Marketing Association, was responsible for formulating and monitoring corporate budgetary performance. He also performed many financial audits of Fortune 500 companies and non-profit organizations during his tenure at Haskins & Sells, a Certified Public Accounting firm. Mr. McIntye is a Certified Internal Auditor.
His educational background includes a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Tulsa and a MA degree in Management from Central Michigan University. He also graduated from the Air Force Institute of Technology with areas of concentration in Financial Management, Accounting and Auditing.
