Work is scheduled to repair several mainholes along Independence Avenue between Third Street, SW, and Second Street, SE beginning Friday, July 23 at 8:00 pm until Monday, July 25 at 5:00 am. This is part of an AOC project to repave that stretch of roadway which began in June 2010. See map illustrating the project work zone.
 
The final phase of this project, the repaving and restriping of Independence Avenue, is scheduled for the last weekend of July, weather permitting. 

Throughout the project, traffic management measures, including signage and flagmen, will ensure the safety of vehicles, workers, and pedestrians, as well as facilitate the flow of traffic.
