This year’s tree — a 55-foot balsam fir — is from Vermont’s Green Mountain National Forest, and was decorated by the AOC’s Grounds Division staff with more than 4,500 ornaments crafted by people from across Vermont that reflects this year’s theme, “Bringing an Old Fashioned Holiday to the Nation.”

As part of the Architect of the Capitol’s continuing commitment to save energy, strands of LED lights were used to decorate the entire tree.
