This aerial view of the Capitol and East Capitol Grounds was taken May 26, 2005. Most of the work on the CVC is occurring below the roof deck on all three levels of the facility. These activities include the installation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems; the placement of concrete slabs and the erection of masonry blocks to define interior spaces; installation of finish stone, metal stud walls and plaster work; and the installation of cable trays and telecommunications conduit. Above ground, crews continue to install granite pavers and place concrete for the historic landscape features (white areas in center of photo). Stone crews continue to set granite blocks on the retaining wall along the north pedestrian ramp (foreground right).
