A bronze statue of Helen Keller, donated by the State of Alabama to the National Statuary Hall Collection, was unveiled in the United States Capitol Rotunda on October 7, 2009.

Commemorating Abraham Lincoln The bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln’s birth on February 12, 1809, is being celebrated throughout the year 2009. Numerous works of art and objects in the Capitol and congressional collections are related to the sixteenth president.
