Planned Weekend Work & DC-FEMS Drill

Planned work by the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) this coming weekend includes:

  • Saturday evening, August 15, the AOC is performing maintenance to electrical systems in the Capitol Building. During this work, brief outages of the lights on the Capitol Dome may occur. This work is not related to the Capitol Dome Restoration Project.
  • Sunday morning, August 16, the AOC Fire Marshal Office is coordinating a high-angle rescue drill with DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DC-FEMS) and the U.S. Capitol Police. DC-FEMS will begin staging on the East Front Plaza at approximately 7:30 a.m.
