The Architect of the Capitol is currently installing a new automatic fire sprinkler system in the Russell Senate Office Building, adjacent to the Kennedy Caucus Room and the Russell Rotunda.
During the installation, the AOC will utilize the opportunity to preserve architectural features throughout this space in the Russell Building. Historic preservation efforts include repairs to ornamental plaster, gilding and stone cleaning around the third floor of the Rotunda and foyer area near the Kennedy Caucus Room.
Scaffolding will be erected during this project. The area will be accessible through a covered walkway under the scaffolding built for the safety of staff and public.
