During the summer months, two series of free concerts are presented on the U.S. Capitol Grounds.
At 8:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, a series of military band concerts is offered on the west front, a continuation of a tradition that is over 130 years old.
In observance of national holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day), the National Symphony Orchestra will perform three starlight concerts on the west lawn of the Capitol under the sponsorship of the Congress and the Secretary of the Interior. Information about the Independence Day concert is traditionally available at the PBS Web site.
