Hart Senate Office Building Roof and Skylight Replacement

Hart Roof Repair Lift

Construction activities for the repair and replacement of the Hart Senate Office Building’s roof and skylights are underway. In support of this effort, a portion of the sidewalk along C street, between the Hart and Dirksen Senate Office Buildings, will be closed through the summer of 2015. The sidewalk closure is required for a material hoist on the side of the building that will facilitate delivery of construction materials to the roof (see illustration above). Signage will be posted to assist pedestrian traffic affected by the sidewalk closure. Additionally, in August 2014 the AOC will begin installing hanging scaffolding throughout the Hart Building atrium to support interior construction and repair activities related with the project.

Construction activities are expected to continue through the summer of 2015.
