Following a national search, Tony Edmonds has been selected to be the next Superintendent of Library Buildings and Grounds.

Mr. Edmonds joined the Architect of the Capitol in 2017 as Director of the Office of Security Programs, where he was responsible for the Architect of the Capitol security programs and infrastructure, continuity of operations, management and operation of the buildings, grounds and security enhancements supporting the U.S. Capitol Police, along with other resiliency requirements. He is a tremendous asset to the Architect of the Capitol executive team and has enhanced the accountability and performance of his organization and built strong relationships across the Capitol campus and with partner organizations.

Before joining the Architect of the Capitol, Mr. Edmonds served in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps, accumulating over 30 years of experience in executive leadership, facilities management, sustainability and oversight of critical infrastructure. His final Navy assignment was as Director, Facilities & Environmental at Navy Installations Command, where he was responsible for a $3.5-billion annual budget and all Facilities and Environmental programs, policies and resources for all Navy installations worldwide.

AOC Offers Family Resources for Distance Learning and Virtual Visits

The Architect of the Capitol is delivering virtual Capitol experiences to those unable to visit because of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Resources for students and families learning from home are grouped into elementary, middle school and high school levels. There are also virtual field trips and online exhibits.
