Safety, Fire and Environmental Programs is responsible for leading Architect of the Capitol's (AOC) efforts to provide a world-class safety culture, reducing injuries and incidents, and ensuring that the AOC complies with safety, fire and environmental regulations.

The office establishes safety, environmental and fire prevention and protection policy, conducts oversight and coordinates emergency planning and preparedness. It serves as the AOC's point of contact with regulatory agencies for occupational safety and health, fire protection and environmental matters.
