Safety Exercise October 28

The Architect of the Capitol will conduct a safety exercise the morning of October 28, 2014, at the Capitol Power Plant. The exercise will consist of a safety team in appropriate protective gear performing mock-evacuation procedures.

The U.S. Capitol Police, D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services and the Office of the Attending Physician will also participate in the safety drill. Safety team assembly will occur near the Capitol Power Plant front gate and near the Adams Building on 2nd Street SE.

The safety exercise will begin at 7:30 a.m. and is expected to conclude by 9:30 a.m. The intersection at New Jersey Avenue and E Street SE will be closed, but there will be no other impact on the neighborhood.
