Carpentry Division
Provides fine architectural millwork, design solutions and carpentry services. AOC's carpenters manufacture, install and craft high-quality woodworking throughout the Capitol Building.

Electrical Division
Responsible for maintenance and repair of the electrical and life safety systems of the Capitol Building and the Capitol Visitor Center. The shop relamps and cleans fixtures in both the Capitol and the Capitol Visitor Center. They restore, install, move, and remove chandeliers as requested in the Capitol Building. The electric shop upgrades the electrical distribution systems, both normal and emergency, in the Capitol Building. They are also involved with room renovations that include electrical, life safety, and telecommunication upgrades.

Elevator Division
Maintains and services U.S. Capitol elevators and escalators, including the modernization of elevator cab interiors, installation of high-tech devices and replacing buttons, lamps and floor indicators.

Flag Office
Responsible for all requests for flags flown over the Capitol from Members of the United States Senate and House of Representatives and staff. Visit www.aoc.gov/flags for more information.

Labor Division
Consists of a night and day shift to provide an array of functions essential to daily building operations. The shop assists other AOC shops, flies flags over the Capitol, sets up for special events, sets up scaffolding, provides office and building cleaning, recycling and general housekeeping. This shop is available 24 hours.

Maintenance Division
Responsible for the modification, repair and operation of the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems of the Capitol Building. This shop is available 24 hours.

Masonry Division
From installation to demolition, the Masonry Shop builds walls and repairs floors throughout the Capitol. The shop also replicates and repairs plaster cornice work and assists with the relocation of historical items such as statues and furnishings.

Painting and Decorating Division
Responsible for all maintenance and decorative painting throughout the Capitol Building.

Plumbing Division
In addition to routine plumbing service calls, leaks, stoppages and general maintenance, the Plumbing Division performs a wide range of new construction projects, hazardous material removal and inspections.

Insulation Division
Performs hazardous material removal, inspects contract work, and works on construction projects.

Sheet Metal Division
Installs, repairs and maintains everything from interior duct work to the Capitol Dome and the copper roof surfaces. Responsible for all items made of metal.
