Rosa Parks Statue

Rosa Parks' statue was unveiled in National Statuary Hall of the United States Capitol, approximately 100 years after her birth on February 4, 1913. This statue depicts Parks seated on a rock-like formation of which she seems almost a part, symbolizing her famous refusal to give up her bus seat in 1955.

Sakakawea Statue

This statue of Sakakawea was given to the National Statuary Hall Collection by North Dakota in 2003. The eight-foot-high bronze statue depicts Sakakawea looking westward, with her infant son strapped on her back.

Sarah Winnemucca Statue

This statue of Sarah Winnemucca was given to the National Statuary Hall Collection by Nevada in 2005.

Sojourner Truth Bust

Sojourner Truth's bust is the first sculpture to honor an African American woman in the United States Capitol.

Statue of Freedom

Statue of Freedom is the crowning feature of the Dome of the United States Capitol. The bronze statue stands 19 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 15,000 pounds.

Willa Cather Statue

Nebraska gave this statue of Willa Cather to the National Statuary Hall Collection in 2023. Littleton Alston (1958- ) is the first African American sculptor to be represented in this collection.
