The Architect of the Capitol was recently awarded a 2017 John Russell Pope Award for Historic Preservation for the Dome Restoration Project. Augustine Angba, Tom Nowell and Chuck Badal accepted the award with employees of Historical Arts and Casting, the company responsible for recasting pieces of the Dome.

The John Russell Pope Awards, which recognize excellence in classical architecture, artisanship, interior design and landscape architecture, are named for the architect best known for the Jefferson Memorial, National Gallery of Art, National Archives Building and Constitution Hall.
