The Cannon Renewal Project provides an effective workplace for the next century to serve the needs of the U.S. House of Representatives and support Congressional operations.

The Cannon House Office Building is the oldest office building on the U.S. Capitol campus, dating back to 1908. After a long-term effort, a top-to-bottom renewal of the Cannon Building is in progress.

The interior of each wing has gone through extensive renovation and the historic exterior has received a partial facelift. Once renewal is complete, the Cannon Building courtyard will become usable green space for the first time since the garage below it was built in the 1950s.
