Thanks, Marty for an intriguing article on the capitol lions! I’d like to add a clarification on the Lion Gate of Mycenae date: it’s 13th Century BC...keep up the good work.
Having just read Linda Tucker’s book, Mystery of the White Lions, I have become fascinated with the implication that lions represent deep and ancient bearings to who we are ( or should be) as humans. lions are protectors and teachers of primordial wisdoms. They hold a place in our human DNA that is essential in our survival. That is why they continue to manifest in so many important places..
