One of the things I appreciate about the U.S. Capitol is how its artwork serves as a visual record of the nation's history. Paintings like John Trumbull's Declaration of Independence don't just decorate the building—they encourage visitors to learn more about the people, events, and ideals that shaped the country's founding. Even when artistic liberties were taken, these works remain an important part of America's cultural heritage.
